Chapter 321: Tie it up, tie it close to your body, even if it’s number 320.

Chapter 321: Tie it up, tie it close to your body, even if it’s number 320.

The words of Mo Xiuchen were domineering and full of deep affection.

This made Wen Ran’s heart beat faster than any sweet nothings he could have uttered.

She held her cell phone tighter, her lips tightly pressed together, remaining silent.

“Ranran, why won’t you say anything?”

Not hearing her answer, Mo Xiuchen asked over the phone.

“In the future, I’ll accompany you.”

Wen Ran’s eyes sparkled with a tender smile. As soon as she finished speaking, her face turned a deep red.

“Alright, I’ll remember that.”

Mo Xiuchen’s laughter flowed through the phone. He then changed the topic and shared what was happening on his end. The two chatted without a care for time and it was only when Mo Xiuchen urged Wen Ran to sleep that she reluctantly put down the phone and closed her eyes to sleep.

Ever since the previous night when Mo Xiuchen told her that he would be back in a week, Wen Ran began to count down the days, eagerly awaiting his return.

Starting from the second day, she didn’t stay at the hospital all day. Bai Xiaoxiao was recovering well, and with Gu Kai’s special nursing assistant available 24 hours with the care of Mother Bai, she only spent half the day at the hospital. In the afternoon, she went to the company to lend a hand.

Wen Jin’s leg was healing faster than they had expected. These past two days he was no longer relying on the wheelchair and could walk short distances on his own. However, he needed to avoid overexertion.

Knowing that even though she is present at work, her heart remained with Mo Xiuchen, Wen Jin didn’t ask Wen Ran to help at home, instead, she went directly to the MS Group.

Conveniently, Qin Mu picked her up in the afternoon to take her to the company and then either dropped her home or at the hospital. No matter where she was, Qin Mu the driver, and the other two bodyguards were always with her.

Little Liu was assigned other tasks by Mo Xiuchen. Tong Shishi couldn’t reach him, and she didn’t seem eager or impatient in seeking out Wen Ran, perhaps waiting patiently for Wen Ran’s reply.

The weather in G City began to turn colder that afternoon.

By the time work was over, a slight drizzle had begun. However, the chill outside was kept out and the office remained warm.

“Wen Ran, it’s time to knock off.”

Wen Ran was engrossed in the towering pile of paperwork and lost track of time until she heard Qin Mu at the door. She looked up to see him walk in with an umbrella, her eyes filled with surprise, “Why are you carrying an umbrella, is it raining?”

The weather forecast only mentioned a significant drop in temperature tonight, with light to moderate snowfall tomorrow.

Qin Mu nodded and walked towards the desk, “The temperature outside has dropped, and it’s raining a bit. Don’t go to the hospital today, I’ll take you home.”

It was going to be even colder at night.

“Alright, wait a moment for me, I’ll be ready in a jiffy.”

Despite what Wen Ran was saying, her hands were still busy sorting out the paperwork.

Qin Mu didn’t say a word, his tall figure stood aside watching her expertly classifying the papers and putting them on the shelf quietly.

“Let me help you with that.”

Moving a step forward, Qin Mu took over the sorted and stapled documents from her.

“Thank you.”

Wen Ran gave him a grateful smile. The top shelf was a bit high for her to reach, she needed to stand on her toes to place the documents there. But it was different for Qin Mu as he was so tall, one stretch of hand and it’s done.

Her workload decreased considerably with his help.

Ten minutes later, when everything was sorted, Wen Ran smiled while looking at the bookshelf, thinking of how surprised Mo Xiuchen would be when he saw this.

“Put on your coat, let’s go.”

Qin Mu glanced at Wan Ran who was beaming from ear to ear, his eyes flashed as he spoke in a low voice.

“Okay!”

Wan Ran put on her outerwear that she picked up, and left the office with him. They took the elevator downstairs, and at the entrance of the building, Qin Mu opened the umbrella and handed it to her, “You take the umbrella.”

When Qin Mu had left his office, it was only a drizzle, but now it was pouring rain. The car park was some distance away and Wen Ran watched as he strode into the rain, couldn’t help but frown, and hurried to catch up with him, “Qin Mu, come share the umbrella, it’s big enough for the two of us.”

“No need!”

As Wen Ran lifted up the umbrella, he immediately stepped aside and quickened his pace.Wen Ran bit her lips, intending to call out to him, but seeing one of the bodyguards coming over with an umbrella, she gave up on that thought.

As soon as she got into the car, Wen Ran’s phone rang.

It was a call from Mo Xiuchen.

“Ranran, have you gotten off work?”

Mo Xiuchen’s voice filled her ears and a soft smile spread across Wen Ran’s beautiful face. The joy in her voice was evident as she spoke, “Just got off work, why are you calling at this hour?”

“I forgot to remind you last night that the temperature is dropping significantly today. Did you dress warmly and are you careful not to catch a cold?”

A warmth filled Wen Ran’s heart, “I’m dressed warmly, don’t worry.”

“There’s rain tonight and snow tomorrow. Go straight home after work for the next two days, don’t go to the hospital at night. If you’re worried about Bai Xiaoxiao, I’ll have Ah Feng check on her tonight.”

Even being miles away across the Pacific Ocean, Mo Xiuchen continued to worry endlessly.

“It’s already raining now, so I won’t go to the hospital, I’ll just go home.”

“Is Ah Mu accompanying you?”

“Yes, he is!”

“Let him take the call.”

Wen Ran handed her phone to Qin Mu who was sitting next to her, a flicker of confusion crossed his eyes as he took the phone and said, “Hello, Mo Xiuchen.”

Wen Ran couldn’t hear what Mo Xiuchen was telling Qin Mu and simply turned her gaze to the window, watching the trees being blown by the wind.

“Your phone!”

Qin Mu and Mo Xiuchen only exchanged a few words which seemed to be instructions from Mo Xiuchen, to which Qin Mu responded with ‘Sure’, ‘Alright’, ‘Understood’ and the like-response.

Wen Ran took back her phone, the call had ended.

She was about to ask what Mo Xiuchen had told Qin Mu when suddenly, Qin Mu’s phone rang.

Unlike hers, his ringtone wasn’t a gentle melody, but a loud, piercing ring that seemed urgent and sharp in the confined space of the car.

“Hello!”

Qin Mu answered quickly, the abrupt ringing ceased and his deep voice filled the car. In the next second, his brows furrowed, his handsome face suddenly turning cold, “How could something like this happen, has the person been sent to the hospital?”

With her head down, playing with her phone, Wen Ran glanced at Qin Mu’s sudden stern tone. She instantly looked up at him, concern filling her eyes.

“Focus on saving the person, nothing else matters at this moment.”

Not knowing what the person on the other end was saying, Qin Mu’s complexion grew colder while his tone became significantly sterner.

Wen Ran furrowed her brows involuntarily, wondering if there had been an accident somewhere, or if a life was in danger.

“Wen Ran, there’s been an accident at the construction site, and I have to go there immediately. Qing Yang and Qing Feng will take you home. Stop the car at the intersection ahead.”

The last half of the sentence was directed towards Qing Yang, who was driving the car in front.
