Chapter 207 Twin Suns

Lee Seng peeked into the right door Keng had motioned to earlier. The room was empty with a table and chairs. There were bookshelves with books in it. Lee Seng motioned for Keng to follow him and stepped inside the lit room. The two looked around the room.

\'Not a speck of dust.\' Lee Seng dragged his finger across the bookshelf and rubbed his fingers together. \'Either this place was magically untouched all these years or someone or something\'s been cleaning.\'

\'Lee, look at this!\' Keng spoke through his thoughts. Lee Seng turned around and moved over to Keng, who was flipping through a book.

"What?" Lee Seng asked. The pages were filled with writing Lee Seng could barely understand at first glance. Keng passed many pictures with detailed descriptions on them and quickly glossed over a page that caught Lee Seng\'s attention. "Go back."

"Hmm? See something?" Keng flipped back.

"Stop."

Keng stopped at a picture depicting Fox Spirits holding suns and fighting back strange monsters. The picture continued depicting the journey of the Foxes with suns. The sun Foxes traveled deeper into the darkness and brought light to the place. They slowly turned the darkness and whatever was in it into light.

"The story of the Sun wielders…?" Keng read the description at the bottom. "The beginning of the Saviors sect. They believed the God King gave them the power of the divine double sun to purify his enemies." Keng flipped the page. "The sun Foxes wandered the lands for a long time, purifying the curses of the Realm and eventually settled at Saviors\' Tomb. Saviors\' Tomb settled in the cursed forest. The Saviors worked to figure out the curse that plagues the land, never truly purifying it."

"What do they mean by that…?" Lee Seng brushed his chin. "The Saviors wielded the double sun and purified evil on this Realm… So they eventually came here and then up and vanished…?" Keng flipped for a while, skimming the pages. He flipped for a long time until he landed near the end of the book pages.

"The Saviors know of a day where they will all vanish from the Realms. They will sacrifice their physical bodies in order to achieve higher power. When two suns, binded as one enter the sanctuary all will– What the hell? It ended." Keng grabbed at the page and looked at the rip. "It was gonna tell us what we needed to know."

"They all sacrificed their physical bodies in order to achieve… a higher power. So maybe they aren\'t dead like the other Foxes think?" Lee Seng guessed. Keng shrugged and closed the book and slipped it back in place.

"The history of the Saviors is interesting. I was wondering why they named the place Saviors\' Tomb. Its\' like they knew they were all gonna die or something… And what about the ending there? \'Two suns, binded as one\'? What does that even mean…?"

"Dunno, but let\'s continue looking around. All that book did was say there\'s possibly ghosts here." The two exited the room and Lee Seng glanced at the entrance and noticed the three older siblings were standing near the doorway.

"Anything in there that was useful?" Lady Vix\'i asked.

"Books  and chairs. You guys can sit in there while we look around." Lee Seng answered.

"What kind of books?" Nab asked, intrigued.

"Well, there was a history book on the Saviors\' origins and how the Tomb came to be. Some parts are ripped up. The last few pages are kinda cryptic." Lee Seng told her. Nabi excitedly lit up.

"Well, I guess I\'ll dig through the books while we\'re here. You two should go. Zixin\'s gonna get cranky if you guys waste too much time." Nabi pointed.

"There\'s nothing to do here. Literally better off fighting those monsters out there than staying here!" Zixin angrily shook his head.

"There, there. Let\'s go inside. I\'ll read you something interesting." Nabi patted.

"Ugh. I don\'t wanna hear you read, again. Last time you wouldn\'t shut up about that one realm with natural magic ores." Zixin pushed into the room with Nabi behind him. Lady Vix\'i turned to look at her younger six-tailed siblings bicker amongst each other.

"Take your time. Zixin may complain but he\'s one of the more patient Foxes I know." Lady Vix\'i told the twins. "I\'m sorry we can\'t be of help, but these books shall pass time while you two traverse the Tomb."

"Mmm, you\'ve done a lot for us, Lady Vix\'i." Lee Seng bowed. "We\'ll be on our way then." Keng and Lee Seng bowed once more and turned to move through the hallway. Keng took front while Lee Seng trailed behind him, looking at the wall designs. The walls were littered with pictures of suns and circular objects. The pattern seemed to repeat itself, losing Lee Seng\'s attention. He refocused on what was ahead of him and noticed Keng was waiting for him at the end of the hall.

"You\'re studying the pictures on the walls right now?" Keng asked. "Let\'s figure out where this sanctuary door is so we can get outta here fast. Time may be slower here, but that doesn\'t mean Earth is slowed to this Realm\'s time. We got a couple of hours, at best, before you have to blink back."

"And if I blink back before we find the room?" Lee Seng asked, catching up to Keng. Keng turned and the both of them moved together down the hall.

"Then we\'ll have to see if we can be Realms apart from each other."

"You really wanna test that out? I know you don\'t stick your business in my business and let me handle it, but it makes me feel better that you\'re with me, always."

"What\'re you tryna do? Get brownie points for saying that?" Keng smiled. He patted Lee Seng on the back and shook his head. "You\'re making it sound like you like having me around."

"Well…" Lee Seng looked down at the ground. "I\'m not opposed to having you around. I just… want to know and don\'t want to know if you…"

"If I what?" Keng turned to Lee Seng and stopped at the end of the hall.

"Well…" Lee Seng ran his fingers through his growing long hair. He looked up with his eyes twinkling. "You\'re not the first person I\'ve said this to, but…"

"You\'re gonna start with that?" Keng\'s smile grew larger. He shook his head and patted Lee Seng\'s cheek. "You don\'t have to explain it to me. I know what you mean." He turned to move towards the door. Lee Seng grabbed Keng\'s wrist and turned him around.

"I just feel better when I\'m with you. You know everything about me, so… I just… I just wanna say that. You know all there\'s to know about me while I rarely ask about you." Lee Seng told him. "I\'m just grateful someone truly knows how I feel. How I think. How much I don\'t want to be alone." He gave a small smile to Keng.

Even though Keng knew everything, this was the first time Lee Seng had said what he knew he\'d say. It was the first time Lee Seng had given him a sincere smile. He watched as the humanoid partner\'s face started to turn red. He was blushing from the vulnerable moment and Keng tapped his lookalike\'s chest and turned to the door.

"You can be vulnerable." Keng wrapped his hand around the door knob and turned it. The door clicked and he slowly opened it.

"You… You…!" Lee Seng stuttered. He was appalled by Keng\'s reaction. "Do I really do that? Oh my god it\'s like I\'m being treated the way I treat others. This is… This is humiliating. I was trying to be nice here and you just…"

"Ah, don\'t make a big deal outta this." Keng walked into the room. His smile was clearly making Lee Seng more irritated. "Come inside."

"Y-you… I guess you\'ll have to wait longer next time for my heart." Lee Seng waved his finger in the air as he followed Keng inside. Keng looked around the lit room. It was a library. Rows and rows of bookshelves went left and right.

"Holy books…" Lee Seng stammered as he looked around. He absorbed the room and turned left as Keng turned to the right side. "How\'re we gonna even find the sanctuary room?" Lee Seng started down one of the library rows. The shelves were labeled with different subjects and genres. He passed the fourth bookshelf when he felt something staring at him.

"Keng?" Lee Seng turned to look behind him. The distorted air quickly fizzled back to normal. "What the hell?" Lee Seng slowly made his way to the previous bookshelf and looked left. The distorted air shifted at the end and went left.

\'I\'m seriously having flashbacks to following Crow in Limbo. Please let this be friendly, please let this be friendly, please let this be friendly.\' Lee Seng rambled in his head as he picked up his pace. He turned left and watched as the air distorted at the end of the bookshelves. He picked up speed and cleared the distance. The image of yellow and orange tails moved left into the bookshelves.
