Chapter 305: Chapter 305 - Aquatic Conqueror
Chapter 305: - Aquatic Conqueror
Once he reached the end of the tunnel, he found himself in a spacious, square-shaped chamber. It reminded him of the arena of the abyss where he had previously fought alongside Princess Alora.
"Is this going to be another battle against waves of monsters?" he wondered.
The room was massive, with towering walls at each of the four corners. What caught his eye, however, was the unique feature in the center of the room: a stone altar surrounded by three treasure chests, all encased within a shimmering prismatic shield.
"What is that?" another question popped into his mind.
Instinctively, Broken descended into the arena, expecting some sort of notification or guidance to pop up and inform him about how to tackle the challenge.
A loud thud echoed, and when he looked back, the tunnel from which he had entered was now sealed. He was trapped within the chamber, uncertain about what lay ahead.
He inspected the altar at the center. It seemed to be protected by a transparent force field emitting a faint blue light. Within the shield stood an altar, atop which floated a golden key, and beside it lay three wooden boxes, probably the rewards from the trial domain.
However, before he could make another move, the chamber began to tremble, and debris started falling from various areas. Polly quickly transformed into her battle form,
summoning her clones to shield Broken from all directions.
Simultaneously, Broken readied his spear, preparing for whatever was to come.
"It seems like our challenge is about to start, Polly," he murmured.
"Yes, Master... I\'ll fight with everything I\'ve got!" Polly responded firmly.
Just then, circular portals began to form all around, characteristic of arenas where waves of monsters emerge. The same aquatic creatures from before started pouring out. But this time, they were walking on the floor rather than swimming. Wouldn\'t it have been more advantageous for them if the arena were filled with water?

Their levels were clearly above 200, fitting for a level 200 trial domain. But their numbers- there were so many of them, and they just kept coming!
"Damn, this trial domain really doesn\'t know how to give me a break," he muttered. The number of monsters before him was significantly greater than any single wave he\'d faced in the previous trial domain. Even though there was supposed to be just one wave here, being swarmed by so many monsters at once was far from enjoyable.
A notification flashed before him.
[The final challenge has begun. Every aquatic creature from the previous challenge that wasn\'t killed has been transferred to the final challenge.]
[Kill them all, and you will be deemed worthy to claim the final reward.]n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
[You will receive more rewards if you manage to complete this trial in one attempt, plus you will be the first person to challenge this Trial and complete it if you succeed.]
"All the monsters from the pool earlier brought here too? The trial domain must be joking," Broken muttered, feeling a surge of frustration.
"What was the point of hovering over that pool if the monsters were simply going to be brought here anyway? This trial domain is cruel. It certainly makes completing it a lot harder."
He quickly assessed the sheer number of monsters now in the chamber. How many were there -10? No, more than that! Maybe 20, 30, or even 50! Each creature slithered with fishtail-like lower bodies, their movements eerily synchronized.
The aquatic creatures began to speak in voices that echoed throughout the chamber.
"The intruder has arrived."
"Attack him, kill him."
"You can\'t acquire the treasure from that chest unless you defeat us all first."
"We will make sure you are destroyed instantly."
"A weak human like him has no place here."
"I\'ll cut off his head."
"I will drown him in water and make him suffocate," another one declared.
Polly looked as though she was ready to pounce-every muscle in her body was tense. "Master, I\'ll fight with everything I have to protect you."
"No, Polly," his voice was firm. "Go back to your world now."
"Master, please, I can\'t just leave you like this. I have to fight by your side," Polly\'s voice quivered. Her defiance was clear as she struggled to follow her Master\'s order. "Master, forgive me for disobeying you."
Spirits were bound by their contracts and couldn\'t easily rebel against their Master\'s commands. It took immense bravery to challenge such instructions. Even so, Polly decided to obey this time. She shrunk back to her mini form and gradually vanished from sight.
"I\'m sorry, Master. I promise I\'ll become stronger," she whispered into the void.
The aquatic creatures burst into laughter, their gills fluttering with amusement as they watched Broken dismiss his only ally.
"I never thought someone foolish enough to venture here would give up so quickly," one of
them sneered.
"Let\'s kill him now!" another shouted.
"Yes, let\'s torture him!" a third monster hissed.
In unison, the horde of aquatic monsters, bristling with long claws and razor-sharp teeth, lunged forward. The water roiled with their movement, spraying droplets and foam into the air. Their sleek bodies shimmered ominously under the dim light, a lethal reminder of what Broken faced.
Yet, Broken stood there, unusually calm, a faint smile playing on his lips.
"I don\'t think this is the right time for a fight," he remarked casually. "It\'s late at night in my world, and I\'m camping, so I don\'t have much time for you guys. Bye."
With nimble movements, he effortlessly leaped backward, slipping through the blue energy barrier that encased the treasure chests inside.
The monsters halted abruptly, eyes widening in shock.
"How did he get through the barrier?!" one of them cried out.
"This is impossible!" another exclaimed.
"We are the guardians of this place. No one can breach the barrier unless they defeat us all!"
Broken chuckled. "Your understanding of reality doesn\'t concern me," he said with a laugh. "Now, I don\'t need to fight you all, do I? My reward awaits."
Broken remarked as he reached and grabbed the gleaming golden key atop the stone altar.
However, the monsters still looked furious and began sprinting faster towards him. Broken, on the other hand, merely yawned as they closed in. As if in slow motion, their bodies began to disperse back into water, exploding sequentially until splashes upon splashes of water
filled the chamber.
Simultaneously, a set of notifications appeared before Broken, indicating that he had successfully completed the Trial Domain.
"Oh, so this really was the final challenge," he said, grinning widely as he realized it. [Congratulations to Broken for becoming the Master of the Water Labyrinth!]
