Good here means that he was very fast, much faster than he could ever be on land, so when he shot himself toward Alex from below.

He has the intention of punching Alex from below, but Alex moves out of the way, and Makrum, unable to lower his speed is shot out of the water\'s surface.

Makrum quickly landed on the surface of the water and glared at Alex hatefully.

Or maybe it was because of the fact that he never thought of using those skills in the first place.

But as said before, it all happened a bit too fast, and Alex\'s mind was preoccupied by his worry for Noctura.
