Chapter 132: Developing new skill?
"Those who learn how to transfix, can change their forms at will and use whatever attack they deem fit in the middle of their battle. Usually, beastman cannot change their forms once they shift that\'s where Transfix can help us," she explained to him. Wistoria turned to look at him and stated, "But you are still far from practising this skill."
"Funnily enough, I know that," Damien remarked as he turned his gaze away from the guards.
"Xavier told me that you have learned how to thrust but you are still far from learning defensive skills. You should have already noticed this while fighting that cheetah beastman."
"If you fighting with a beastman who can make long-range attacks then you will have a hard time fighting. You need to learn a skill which will help you fend against these attacks."
"Today I will teach you a way to dodge and block. The more you practise, the better you will get each day."
"How do you want me to do that?" Damien asked.
Wistoria raised her hand and pointed at Claw.
"I have heard of your special circumstances," she told him with a smile. "Master Godric thinks that my family\'s special training will be able to help you in increasing your affinity with this beast. I have no idea how it is going to happen, but since Master Godric\'s plan usually works— We will try it."
Damien frowned when he heard her response. What was Master Godric doing? Was he not the one who asked him to keep this skill a secret?
However, he was too eager to get stronger and decided to think about this matter later on.
"What do I need to do?" He questioned her.
"Oh nothing much," Wistoria smiled at him. "Iron Claw Eagles are known for their strong wind attacks. So, all you need to do is defend against these guards and try to connect your beast core with his." She pointed at Claw. "If you are lucky then you will unlock a new skill."
"And just in case, I didn\'t get lucky?" Damien questioned and the woman smiled even wider.
"Then you and I will be sporting the same burnt marks," she chuckled.
Somehow, that description made Damien worry and it only turned even more foreboding when Wistoria turned to look at the guards and called them to stand in front of them.
Damien noticed that these men, despite listening to her, lacked the respect that Xavier had for Wistoria. They all were looking at her with a frown as if they could not believe that Wistoria actually dared to interrupt their training.
"Now," Damien did not know whether Wistoria noticed their blatant disrespect or not but even if she did, she pretended to not notice it. "I need you to spar with Lord Damien here," she turned to look at Damien before adding, "There is no need to worry, they just finished their elementary training. So they are not really far from you. At most, they will only throw pesky balls of fire."
Almost at once, the guards glared at Wistoria as she said those words.
Though they did not say anything, their thoughts were loud and clear.
"Alright," Damien glanced at the guards before smiling at them. "Sorry for the trouble, mates." And a few glares turned his way almost immediately.
"There is no need for you to apologise," Wistoria stated coldly as she tucked her hair behind her ear. "They are loyal to the Wolfe family, following and supporting the Wolfe family members and listening to their orders, is what they live for."
She glanced at the guards sharply before saying to them, "Isn\'t that right?"
The guards did not dare to refuse her. After all, she was their master, even if they respected Nicholas more than Wistoria. No matter how dissatisfied they were with what Wistoria asked them to do, they had no choice but to follow her commands.
Anyway, to them this training was no different than their usual training.
Wistoria asked Damien to stand in the centre of the ring which was in the middle of the training grounds. She then picked up a wooden circular board that had a target drawn on it and threw it at Damien before saying to him, "Hang it around your neck."
Once Damien did what she asked him to do, Wistoria turned to look at the guards.
"Alright, you only need to aim at the target and not Lord Damien. I will remind you to only attack the target and attack to aim and not kill. Lord Damien will try his best to fend against your attack. With fifteen of you and him alone, you should know how to let this training take its course right?"
Her voice turned stern as she repeated, "Don\'t even think of killing him. That will be the last thing you will do."
The guards nodded.
Only then did Wistoria nod and say to them, "Then have fun. Try to push yourself to the extreme because even controlling your mana is a type of training."
The guards turned to look at Damien. They raised their hands and summoned a few fireballs that they slashed at Damien.
Damien frantically tried to dodge them, while trying to summon the energy from Claw, however, he was so busy trying to escape the charging claws that he couldn\'t even concentrate.
He jumped and started slashing with his own sword as he tried to stop himself from getting charred in places.
"You are not focusing," Wistoria told him. Stay tuned to m-v l|e\'-NovelBin.net
"Yeah? I wonder why?" Damien sneered as he fended against another attack.
